New Business
Membership vote on minor change to Club bylaws
Current by-laws require the publication of prospective new members in both the Jib Sheet and via an “email blast.” The purpose of the notification requirement is to allow existing members to object to a new member joining if they have reason to do so. (This is a very rare occurrence.)
The proposed amendment to Sec 2.2 would satisfy the notification requirement by publishing in either the Jib Sheet or by email blast. It will be fine if the Membership Committee publishes the names in both places, but only one will be required per our by-laws.
Here is the proposed amendment:“Send applicants’ names and their sponsors’ names to the Webmaster for member notification via “email blast” or to the Jib Sheet Editor for publication.”
